Dr Sheena is an internationally trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon with extensive experience in all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and a passion for quality breast aesthetic and reconstructive surgery, body contouring procedures and skin cancer surgery.
Dr Sheena graduated in 2006 from University College London, one of the top 10 medical schools in the world. After qualifying, he completed general surgical training in the UK around London, Oxford and Birmingham. At this point Dr Sheena knew he wanted to specialise in plastic and reconstructive surgery and secured a national training number in the East of England in 2013. He spent the next 5 years in Cambridge, Norwich and Stevenage and was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (England) in Plastic Surgery, FRCS (Plast) in 2017. In 2018 Dr Sheena completed a highly coveted Onco-plastic Breast Surgery fellowship at Chelmsford (UK) working alongside senior breast surgeon Dr Simon Smith and world-renowned Microsurgeon Professor Venkat Ramakrishnan. Dr Sheena moved with his young family to Perth (WA) in 2019 where he spent 3 years completing further senior fellowships at the Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and the Rodin Clinic gaining a high-volume exposure to trauma, cancer reconstruction and aesthetic surgery.
In 2023 Dr Sheena moved to the Gold Coast, taking up a public appointment as a plastic and reconstructive surgery consultant in Queensland Health and continues to work in this role serving Robina, Varsity Lakes and Gold Coast University Hospitals. He specialises in breast reconstruction, skin cancer surgery, hand and general trauma reconstructive surgery and has the privilege of caring for patients from around the Gold Coast and wider QLD and northern NSW region. Dr Sheena also enjoys teaching student doctors and supervising surgical trainees and has a strong clinical research record, regularly publishing and presenting at national meetings and international conferences, holding a Senior Lecturer post at Griffith University.
Dr Sheena was awarded the Fellowship of the Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS, Plast) in 2025 becoming the first and only plastic surgeon in the Gold Coast region with dual specialist fellowship in Plastic Surgery from both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Dr Sheena takes pride in communicating with his patients, understanding their individual needs and offering tailored solutions to help them determine what is possible to prolong, restore or improve appearance and function.
Outside work, Dr Sheena loves spending time with his wife and three young children, travelling and exploring the natural beauty of this part of the world.
